Bit of a shock!

Postby hypnorm on Sat Mar 01, 2008 1:41 pm

Went to the doctor yesterday to get my routine blood result back, to be told I have a Brain Tumour! apparently a Prolactinoma.
So I am awaiting an emergency referal to the endocrinologist to start sorting treatment.
Luckily it is not malignant, so i should live to see the end of it.
So please excuse me if i'm not only line much at the moment.

As you can imagine my head is in a bit of a mess.

I think we should all get regular health checks !
You just never know ?
Best wishes to you.
The positive thing is they found it before it caused you any problems .

Thanks All.
I have my referal at Banbury Horton Hospital on Thursday next. Not looking forward to it.
All our local hospitals had a waiting list of over 2 months!! so we are travelling 40 miles!

Am generally doing ok, but have and a very up n down day today. Its a week since i was diagnosed!
How fast did that week go!

Sorry to hear about your problem. Makes you wonder whether, sometimes, doctors have to be quite so honest. Very often the worry can be worse than the ailment!!
Fingers crossed for next thursday!!
