Can't add much Simon - all I know is hearsay.........although to be fair, much of what I hear turns out to be nearer to actual fact than when I hear it from 'the horses mouth'.

I really should know the facts better, but it seems a 5 mile new waterway is required to link the 40foot to the inland waterways. The lock is only the first phase of linking inland waterways.

I've been told by my friend who moors at the cockle queue, that the moorings are moving, however as it seems this lock in no way impedes the tidal Haven, well it could be status quo.

There is a Fen Waterways Link website http://www.fenswaterways.com/main.asp?page=home

Construction seems to be more or less in line with the projected timescale.
