Nothing too exciting, but I've just returned from taking Barney for a walk around the river near Stamp End. I had my camera so took a picture of my 'water gauge'. Cincil Drain is the same level of water all the way to Boston. The Witham is 8ft higher at normal levels in summer, and 9 to 10ft in winter.

But it is a little more complicated because the tide stops the river from flowing into the sea for between 4 and 6 hours twice a day. It also takes 12 hours for water from Lincoln to reach Boston, or so I was told by the Boston harbourmaster who controls the water level, this year.

However a small fishing platform makes a great water gauge to give me some idea. Also if the sluice at Stamp End is slightly open, and the traffic light red, this should mean my boat will be floating

The other pics are views today from the top of the viewing platform.

This is enough water for me to be floating.

This is the view South

This is the view North

And the nice peaceful river Smile
