Ideas for Forums.

Postby Jimbo on Wed Sep 12, 2007 9:01 am

Would it be possible for pictures of our boats etc to be added to posts by the writer or by sending them to the administrator for adding.
Nice to have a picture of as a header for the various boats listed.

You can add pictures, i use Photobucket to provide a link to the photos.
i'm not very technical so difficult to explain!
You can always upload an avatar on to your name too.

I think you can upload to the site. You can also have a image in your signiture by using the BBcode. All you have to do is upload a photo to a
picture hosting site like photobucket then copy the url in between Image

Any chance the General Boating Chat can be put at the top, as has recently been done on the Dawncraft forum. This is the first place most people look, and having to scroll down the page is a bit of a chore.

This is where everyone posts, and views to see any new posts.

Having that beautiful wooden boat in your title (is it a Broom?), it seems a shame not to have a classic boats section.

I've moved the general boat chat up a bit.
I might do a classic section later, but there are alot of older boats that are verging on classics now.
Or would a Wooden Boat section be of use?

Speaking only for myself, I would like only one section, or only a few. The reason for this is that when you use the net, people tend to click on a link, and if they don't see new posts, move on, probably staying for only a few seconds.

So the most important thing is to show there are new posts to read, or have all new posts at the top of the page. This is especially the case with only a few posts. If a forum gets very busy, and you can pick and choose what you read, different sections are then an advantage.

The man to ask is Fuzzy of course.......he has successfully steered me through 'the maze' for the last few years, up to now with no problems.

(A serious compliment mate)
