Must say, I was tempted to take the things home and put them under the grill with some garlic butter and Dolcelatte!!!
However, the downside is the fungus is growing from one of the transom well drain holes, and in turn from the transom itself. When I cleared it all out, putting a finger into the drain hole revealed it to be spongy and soft, and bits of the wood came out.
So it's a dry out job, engine off and hack away at the affected bit to see how bad it is. With the transom being the most crucial bit on an outboard type boat, it has to be done properly to keep the structural integrity of the boat perfect.
