I got the same impression. Of the three pubs there we couldn't find one, one was shut and the one nearest the moorings looked a bit delapdated. Out of intrest whats the machines just downstream of the lock do?
I went in the "Barge" the pub near the bridge and was the only customer
talking to a boater who moors LT at Keadby Bw have recently taken over the pub and things have gone down ever since .
The local working mens club has been doing a roaring trade ever since .
Not sure what you mean about "machines" ? There is a gas fired power station to the north and sluices for land drainage to the south.
